Art Galleries

Sacred Spaces : Sacred Spaces - i suppose all space on earth is sacred, although we seldom treat it as such. In this gallery i include some of my favourite things i have ever actioned on behalf of God.

i usually store this gallery in AA - Artists' Anonymous - a Smug Communities repository that I think is appropriate. i assume that is why artists use pen (painting) names. A man or woman's faith is their own business...

A lot of my work employs collage - it allows me to use modern media and ancient techniques of painting. It is, in essence, image making nonetheless. Paint, silver gelatin, pixels, cardboard, bytes - all form the canvas - the end result is image of a single moment in a succession of moments. One foot after the other...

The Night Fishermen : The Night Fishermen

This gallery is in construction. Bit by bit I will load on my novel 'The Night Fishermen' - an allegorical and historically accurate tale about Aotearoa (New Zealand) at the time of the arrival of the pakeha (The White Man). Interestingly a 'pakeha' was a white eel, found in the Whanganui River long before Tasman or Cook came to these shores. The Night Fishermen is the story of the migration of the Ngati Toa Rangatira from Kawhia Harbour to Kapiti Island. It tells of Tawhiri the warrior, his father Tana, their tohunga Nohorua, their song singer Waitohi, the brazen warrior Rangihaeata, the Napoleon and Moses of the South Te Rauparaha, the fishermen and women, the iwi (tribes) they encountered and the white newcomers. See the Battle of the Trees for more ancient wisdom.

Incidentally, 'The Night Fishermen' is also a story about eels.

Seasons : Seasons

These four pieces were executed on the same piece of timber – off-cuts of a panel that came from The Factory, Johnsonville. The idea was to use the natural grain and contours of the base material to the best effect to depict the seasons. They were for sale but it looks like Ms P wants to exhibit them with her Rainbow series at The Factory, jville. Her aunt Maria is setting up a gallery there some time in the future, i heard. Google "miss p" or 'ms p jville' and you should get the latest info. If you end up on a dominatrix website don't blame me. Cat got one the other day - she didn't subscribe.

Ms P: Rainbow Series : R a i n b o w Series

This all started as a bit of a dare. Ms P felt good to put my skills to the test after I gave her a Valentine’s Day painting entitled Painting Jville Red! Ms P, the Paris Hilton of Jville, and I had been going out together for a little while and were just sussing each other out. She wanted a Rainbow Series for our courtship so she got one. What follows is the result of her insistence of getting whatever she wanted.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet – I remembered clearly, the R-O-Y-G-B-I-V of my mnemonic-ridden childhood.

sincerely hers, inanga

Collages : This is a fascinating art, but beware it is addictive. In order to get good results you need at least 700 of your own original artworks carefully arranged in galleries - theme, type, genre - that sort of thing.

Then it is easy with Picasa 3. As soon as you have collaged you can send the pic instantaneously by email, or upload it to a gallery with Google and Mozilla Firefox in tandem. The gallery is a SmugMug creation and it is a never-filling vault. It's pretty cool, as in one experiment I got 20,000 images on one collage. When you zoom in the clarity of the pixellated paintings is mind-blowing. If you want one send a photo and I will centre it in paintings. And like butterflies, that is free.

Hogproductions gallery was initially created to sell originals only. Just lately I got 100,000 easily viewable images of my paintings on a collage - it's too much!
