The Scroll: Close Up
This is as good a place as any to talk about Somanetics. When i was wandering the ruins of Pergamon (Pergamum, it has several variants - during the co-writing of istanbul to Cairo on the cheap) i spent a few hours looking at the curious symbols on the ruins. Yep, one of the secrets you will have to know if you are following 'Lost Dutchman's Mine on Treasure Island' is the secret of the od and the ob united in the Aour in the northern Italian form, or in eastern mysticism, the ida and pingala united in the sahasrara via the ajna chakra. No, the Mexican didn't tell me this. i got a tip from Bob.
The Superstitions without Sacred Syrian Rue - not likely!
Why? Because... here i go again. Rue is the most ancient of plants that you will encounter in global (and interglobal) folk medicine. It is sometimes called Assyrian rue, plus the Latin (which varies), plus SOMA.
Hence soma-genic and soma-getic medicine. In the Ayurvedic scripts of the Rg Veda it is referred to as the 'soma' plant and was gifted by Brahma-Manu. It was taken in a tincture of meteorite (specifically 'moldavite' from Moldava) and gold, and a few other things that i'll write about later.
It is also the 'plant of life' of the great Zoroaster (remember 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' that sneaks into lots of movie scores). It was called 'Haoma' in that, but that is close enough. The god Mazda Azura, 'the Wise god of Light', gave it to Zoroaster and this is recorded in the 'Avesta Veda'. Zoroaster (no, he's not the Mexican, a star Zorro) was in the line of Gilgamesh and was known in the Sumerian Kings List as King Etana or Atun, who went in search of the 'plant of life'.
Pinoline resonates with the very pulse of life of 7.83 on the Schumann resonance, and this is the actual pulse than DNA uses to replicate. This was measured by Dr Puharich - Google - in the late 70s and he found it to be emitted from the brains and hands of all successful healers, regardless of belief or faith.
Soma is the most sacred plant of Mohammed, Blessings be upon his Name, and he took the 'Esphand' (and this is mixed Arabic-Farsi for 'soma') before receiving the Holy Qu'ran from God. It is so sacred that seven angels are placed above its branches. The Holy Esphand castes out evil spirits, and cures fever and malaria, in both Arabic and Persian traditions.
i love Petra, Jordan, and would have loved to have spent some time there with the Mexican and the Egyptian. As a Lonely Planet writer, i wandered it alone. In the Petra (Nabataean) traditions of al- CHEM-y they used it for their plant of illumination and restoration. It again was mixed with gold, moldavite (when they could get it) and other products. This was similar to Zoroaster, known as CHEM, the original A-CHEM-ist and CHEM-ist.
i asked the Egyptian, as he gazed into the Superstitions: 'Did you guys use this?'
He fumbled with his fez and told me that the grandson of Zoroaster, Nimrod or King En-Meru.dug, who founded the Egyptian Second Dynasty saw that this plant was used in the Mystery and Healing Schools of ancient Egypt.
i have always had a fondness for the Essenes. The Egyptian added but not exactly as written here - so this is paraphrase. Our Egyptian Essenes - the original Essen being in the Heliopolis of Danu, Anu, An or On even today - named themselves after the plant. It was the burning bush of Moses called 'Asena', the name of an Essene Therapeutate in Egypt. He went on - again paraphrased:
It is also the acronym of the gods Set, Isis, Osiris and Nephtys in Greek. SION was later transmuted into ZION, as various 'a elicios' took place, in a battle of the trees, as is agreed in any Covenant.
SION in Egyptian transliteration = Aset (Isis), Sutekh (set), Nebtet (Nephtys) and Auser (Osiris). The acronym for this is ASNA, the name for the Essenses and the Bush of Life itself. That in turn was called Asena, female form of the One God Aton, from whence comes the greek goddess Athena.
i remarked to the Egyptian.
'This rue is some serious stuff by the sound of it'.
He told me that the word essence comes from the Asena bush mixed with gold and moldavite, as did the German word to 'eat' (essen). Never believe a German-speaking Egyptian - well i did.
He went on to tell me heaps more and this was becoming a long break in Apache Junction.
The Asena (Assena) healers made a 'Bread of Light' from it. In their laboratories on the Sinai, and particularly at Mt Serabit, near Serabit el-Khadim, an ancient temple was unearthed. In 1903 (not James Blunt's 1973) Sir William Flinders Petrie unearthed this temple that contained all sorts of al-CHEM-ical iconography from the 3rd Dynasty, 12th Dynasty and the 18th Dynasty. The last gave rise to Tutankhamen, Aken-aton, Tuthmosis 3, Amenhotep 3 and Queen Hapshetsut. Joseph, the son of Jacob, Vizier of Egypt (known as Yuya) was in Egypt when this temple was active.
Flinders Petrie found 50 tons of white powder, none of its ingredients apart from rue indigenous to the area. Again rue, gold, meteorite, soil from Abydos on the Nile, etc. An alchemical crucible was unearthed. An examination of this revealed that there were plenty of SOMA ingredients being 'crucibled' [if that's a word] to make the 'bread of light'. The Asena bush, and surprisingly for me, the acacia (source of DMT) were there in abundance.
The Bedouin of the region still make 'the bread of light' from Asena/Haoma, acacia, and meteorite, and give it the same shape as the Eucharist of the Egyptians, a circle with a hole in centre, the eye of Ra.
i was ever mindful in Apache Junction that i hadn't seen any Apaches. But they were there, and the Egyptian knew that they kept a weather eye on the Lost Dutchman's Mine. Rumour has it that even today they are guardians of it. And you still want to go into the Superstitions with a hundred Yavapai Apache guards - some who fought in Vietnam - making sure you don't come out alive. Read on... even if it does sound ridiculously like an ode to immortality. Spare the thought...
But here is a much better one:
'Even if the heaven were to fall on me
I want to do what is right...
I never do wrong without a cause'.
