inanga > The Temptation of St Anthony

i haven't got a picture of 'The Way of the Rope' so i put its description under this - because the white thread of mountains through the center is part of the original (collaged here). Anyway...

'The Way of the Rope'

i was born in New Zealand in this round of 3-D and my noble eight-fold path of suffering sees me in NZ 3-D when this depiction of the rope was painted. It is the beautiful rolling foothills of the Southern Alps of Aotearoa. i lost myself in those innocent childish foothills long ago.

If you hang it as a portrait it indicates the rope and if you hang it landscape either way up you get the child-like foothills. It is an optical delusion, nonetheless.

The rope depicted is that of the ancient Egyptians. When they wanted to move a pharaoh’s soul to heaven (the next dimension, probably 5-D at that time, then the way of the rope would be prepared. When the sun struck the crystal at the top of the great pyramid then the flame characters were ignited spelling out the way of the rope (these characters are depicted in The Bible Secret. The Benben bird appeared and conducted the righteous souls of the deserving to the next dimension. Jesu Christos knew and studied these secrets and was thus able to enact his own ascension – with the full understanding and will of God his Father.

The Egyptians mismanaged the way of the rope, and it is only now that wise men and women are relearning the secrets of that path. It is essential to All of our Being.

A woman who gave care to my partner Ms P received this piece as a statement of our gratitude. She took it to England where we think she studies its significance and perhaps, she in time will learn the way of the rope.

inanga > The Watchtower, Grand Canyon

A sacred space in the Grand Canyon. Almost at the base of the Grand Canyon, near the Colorado River, one of the oldest rocks ever found is seen as a metamorphic strip - this is Vishnu stone. For more on ancient stones http://books.google.co.nz/books?id=z_KDdsQYuJIC&pg=PA100&lpg=PA100&dq=vishnu+stone+grand+canyon&source=bl&ots=xR3r-eVKG9&sig=NzdGsFXKzq5D3dwKw9OCXlA2jB0&hl=en&ei=f9rDSu3eDpPatgPy7p2vCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CBYQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=vishnu%20stone%

We used to call Jehovah's Witnesses 'JWs' here in Aotearoa. i used to wait for them to arrive so i could get a free copy of 'The Watchtower' as i was both intrigued by the content and the illustrations. i got more out of that magazine than i did out of Sunday School - and i loved Sunday School with never-to-be-forgotten hymns, camps and those frightening moments when i was confronted with sledge-hammer issues of faith. So when i first got to see the Grand Canyon the Watchtower was one of those most alluring prizes i could hope to see in my first sojourn to the United States. So the J-Double-Us (sort of like Dub-yas) played an important part in my journey towards the personal discovery of God. i tried several feeds for a good source on this wonderful faith but the most reliable ended up being wiki. So for great philosophy go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki and type in 'Jehovah's Witnesses'

inanga > The Decalogue עשרת הדברים

Again wiki has the best feed for this by far: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethical_Decalogue

Talk about valuable resources, i learnt more about God's Ten Commandments here than years of reading. Honest. This image is dedicated the person or persons who are responsible for such fine scholarship.

i tried to locate this pic on Mt Sinai (Horeb), but again the Smug-icon was directed not to a mountain, but to the place of least altitude on the world.

There is a decalogue stone in New Mexico. i haven't seen it personally so it is not for me to comment. It is best you go here: www.econ.ohio-state.edu/jhm/arch/loslunas.html

inanga > Tilting at Windmills

"Just then they came in sight of thirty or forty windmills that rise from that plain. And no sooner did Don Quixote see them that he said to his squire, "Fortune is guiding our affairs better than we ourselves could have wished. Do you see over yonder, friend Sancho, thirty or forty hulking giants? I intend to do battle with them and slay them. With their spoils we shall begin to be rich for this is a righteous war and the removal of so foul a brood from off the face of the earth is a service God will bless."

    "What giants?" asked Sancho Panza.

"Those you see over there," replied his master, "with their long arms. Some of them have arms well nigh two leagues in length."

"Take care, sir," cried Sancho. "Those over there are not giants but windmills. Those things that seem to be their arms are sails which, when they are whirled around by the wind, turn the millstone."

inanga > I am the river (Whanganui Maori Proverb)

i was listening to some of L Ron Hubbard's tapes - those made just before he died. 'Thetan-clears' will be familiar with them. Apart from the Naval regimentation in Ron's voice there were some real pearls of wisdom. His analysis of the 'scio-logos', divided into:

Earliest Versions - The Veda
The Tao - the Way
The Dhyana - Knowingness and Lookingness
Gautama Sakyamuni (563 - 483BC)
The Hebrews
Jesus of Nazareth
Spread of Christianity into the Barbarism of Europe
Close of the Trade Routes
Western Seekers of Wisdom
Definition of Religion - Webster
Religion - Religious Philosophy

is about the best short profile of the evolution of epistemology i have heard. Admiration is truly the most beautiful quality of All.

good stuff for tuned minds...

inanga > The Good Shepherds

Kate - the woman on the New Zealand $10 note. This is an unfinished painting but I am not losing any sleep about it.

New Zealand was the first country on earth to give votes to women. Nebraska in the USA was the first place but it is only one of 50 of the united states. So we were pretty progressive in Aotearoa and Kate Shepherd was one of the real forces behind these democratic changes.

I'll flesh this out with some more info on Kate when I complete the picture. I suppose when I get the picture.

Procrastination is the thief of time, thus time thieves from the likes of me.
