inanga > Hinemoana o te Pauanui at Uffizi

Just listening to Hoodoo Guru's 'A Thousand Miles Away' and playing in Picasa 3. This was the result - in about a minute - using their overlay feature. Our wahine was admiring the ad by United Colours of Benetton [i think that's how it is spelt] on the construction fence outside the Uffizi, Firenze. The couple in the foreground, enjoying the sun, were a gift from Google Earth. Saved myself an air ticket...

Hinemoana is from one of my paintings 'Hinemoana o te Pauanui', mainly oil and T-shirt on recycled blind.

inanga > Room with a View - Ponte Vecchio, Tuscany

detail from 'Ponte Vecchio, Firenze, Tuscany (3 arches)' used as centrepiece.

For a view of the original go to the Tuscan gallery: http://www.hogproductions.com/Art/Tuscany/8790614_QGTkt/1/581979429_Pr2JV

Apparently, and by chance, this is the actual 'Room with a View' in E.M.Forster's novel of the same name.

inanga > Genbaku Domu 3-D Google Earth

Thank you Digital Earth Technology - I hope I have not damaged your original genius. And thanx to Google Earth - you are the 'goods' for this sort of thing.

'The little creatures run in from the cold
Back to the nest, just like the days of old
There in the safety of a Mother's arms
The warmth of ages, far away from harm again

Ears ringin' from the battle fire
The tired warrior aims a little higher
The black falcon or the little sparrow
The healing light or the flash of a barrel

No one wins
It's a war of man
No one wins
It's a war of man

Silver mane flyin' in the wind
Down through the planets on the run again
No one knows where they're runnin' to
But every kind is comin' two by two

Out on the delta where the hoofbeats pound
The daddy's runnin' on the frozen ground
Can't smell the poison as it follows him
Can't see the gas and machines, it's a war of man

No one wins
It's a war of man
No one wins
It's a war of man

The windows open and the little girl dreams
The sky's her playground as she mourns her steed
Across the heavens to the other side
On wings of magic does the little girl ride

The baby creatures run in from the cold
Back to the nest, just like the days of old
There in safety of a Mother's arms
The warmth of ages, far away from harm again

No one wins
It's a war of man
No one wins
It's a war of man
No one wins...'

inanga > Pixel Alchemy - the Wizard in the Spiral

The wizard is a detail from 'Tarawera 1886' - the Kiwi HP experimented with it for a while for his business card but went ahead and chose one with 'gold' in it.

He's into all sorts of secrets - earthquakes via Ruaumoko, tidal waves via Tangaroa, windstorms via Tawhiri Matea, etc, etc. i suspected him of pinching the original map - maybe he's got it, maybe not. All is forgiven - we are using Google Earth ONLY now as well as RAM's fine product. A treasure map must be on paper - it is more material. It's like a painting - you have to see it on a wall to truly appreciate it. Globs of oil, firebrand acrylic going hog wild, toss in some swirls, tweak it with fence paint, whammo - image. You miss that excitement if you don't see the passion and flame of the original.

inanga > Phi Swirl and Paua

- detail from 'Matariki'

Dedicated to Dr Paul Brunton

'Do your best to mend matters, the best you can, then leave the results to destiny and the Overself. You can't do more anyway. You can modify your destiny, but certain events are unchangeable because the world is not yours but God's. You may not know at first what these events are, therefore you must act intelligently and intuitively: later you can find out and accept.

Whatever happens, the Overself is still there and will bring you through and out of your troubles. Whatever happens to your material affairs happens to your body, not the real YOU. The hardest part is when you have others dependent on you. Even then you must learn how to commend them to the kindly care of the Overself, and not try to carry all the burden on your own shoulders. If it can take care of you, it can take care of them, too.'
Paul Bruton, Notebooks of Paul Bruton, Category 9: From Birth to Rebirth, Chapter 3, Laws and Patterns of Experience.

inanga > On-line Gallery: Faces of Earth

Welcome to Fine Arts Disneyland - known as FAD in the trade. I treat this whole gallery as an on-line painting. Each of myriad images herein is just a Phi evolution. The vesica piscus divides, again and again, image after image, Geo-coded location after Geo-coded location, on-line, real-time, anywhere in the world, each time you type in HOGPRODUCTIONS in any room, with any broadband device, at any desk, at almost any resolution, focal-length, at any time, anywhere in the cosmos. So you too can become part of the bigger canvas just by logging on.

So Plog on and get yourself in the picture. The comments you make - especially if you have been there - and your glorious photographs. All are fuel for a painter's imagination. This world belongs to every human being and their animal companions on the planet, so let's go ahead and paint it!

HELP me paint this picture please. And enjoy being part of a painter's tool, his beauty or her wisdom - and thank you GOD.
